Meah Denee Barrington
Founder & CEO,
The Reel Noire Network
I’m Meah Denee Barrington, a creative producer and community builder who has spent over a decade at the intersection of storytelling, culture, and connection. I’ve produced digital content for Condé Nast, Glamour, Allure, and Vanity Fair, generating over 15 million views, and I’ve interviewed icons like Soledad O’Brien, Loretta Devine, and Pinky Cole, with the goal of amplifying Black voices!
In the US, Less than 6% of film and TV producers, writers, and directors are Black. Media companies are losing not millions but billions due to a lack of diversity. What’s really missing is access, representation, and community, both for underrepresented creatives and for diverse audiences wanting to see themselves authentically on screen.
That’s why I created The Reel Noire Network, a platform that bridges the gap between underrepresented creatives and mainstream opportunities through education, resources, and connections. Consider us the plug that’s helping them secure mid-level and executive positions in media. And with Shit Black Girls Watch, I’ve built a space where Black women connect, feel seen, and build friendships through their love of film and television.
I am on a mission to empower underrepresented creatives, amplify our stories, and build spaces where we can thrive together. If you believe in diverse storytelling and authentic representation, let’s connect!
